Ypsilanti, MI (September 15, 2023) - Further details have been released in connection with a crash that left a child critically injured earlier this week, according to the police.
Ypsilanti police arrived at the intersection of Harriet Street and Hamilton Street at about 9:465a.m. on Sunday, September 10, after receiving a complaint of a collision involving a pedestrian. Officers have now said that the victim was a child, who remains hospitalized in serious condition as of Thursday evening. Upon their arrival, EMTs said the victim was seriously hurt and bleeding profusely.
Due to the severity of the child's injuries, the Accident Investigation Team from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office was sent to the site, though no additional information about the cause of the incident has been provided in the interim.
