Detroit, MI (September 13, 2023) - A man from Oxford was killed in a car accident on Monday afternoon, per local authorities.
The accident occurred at around 5:35 a.m. between John R Road and Dequindre Road, said the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
The 57-year-old man was reportedly driving an eastbound 2008 Ford Taurus on Michigan Highway 59 when he was hit by a westbound 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The second driver, a 25-year-old man from Brandon Township, lost control and drove over a median through an "authorized vehicles only" crossing.
The victim was brought to the hospital on Monday night and later died from his injuries. A second car, driven by a 58-year-old woman in a 2020 Buick Envision, was also hit, though she was reportedly uninjured.
No citations or charges have been filed in the interim, though an investigation is ongoing.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the deceased man's family.
