Bay County, MI (September 3, 2023) - After another collision on U.S. Highway 10 Thursday night, police asked drivers to slow down and be cautious near a construction site.
Two individuals were sent to the hospital following an accident on westbound U.S. 10 at 7:10 p.m., according to the Bay County Sheriff's Office. Workers investigated and cleared the site shortly thereafter, which caused the shutdown of all westbound lanes of U.S. 10.
According to the investigation team, a Toyota Highlander traveling west hit a Hyundai Santa Fe from the rear near Mackinaw Road.
The Highlander's 67-year-old driver and his 76-year-old passenger both sought treatment at Saginaw's Covenant HealthCare facility for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Santa Fe, a 53-year-old woman, suffered injuries but was released from the scene after declining emergency transport.
An investigation into the circumstances of the collision still remains ongoing.
