Rudyard Township, MI (September 1, 2023) - According to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, an ORV driver tragically passed away as a result of their injuries after a crash on Wednesday afternoon.

The two-car collision apparently occurred on southbound I-75 near Rudyard at about 4:15 p.m., according to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to the accident at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and found that a person in an off-road RV was involved.

Two people in a minivan were injured, but neither was seriously hurt. The other three members of the family traveling in the same vehicle received immediate care and were discharged from the hospital. The ORV driver was rushed to the hospital by EMS, but they were pronounced dead.

Officers are continuing to investigate and have not released additional details in the interim.
