Detroit, MI - Injury Car Accident on I-696 at American Dr

Detroit, MI (August 25, 2023) - At least one person was hurt in an auto accident on Interstate 696 in the Detroit area on Friday, August 25, in the early evening hours.

Officers from the Detroit Police Department were sent to the scene, located on the freeway's eastbound left side, and they began their investigation after the American Drive exit. Local Detroit officers joined Michigan State Police representatives to provide assistance at around 5:45 p.m., just before EMTs responded.

Although paramedics assessed the injured at the scene of the wreck, the total number of victims involved is still unknown. The MSP is in charge of the investigation and is interested in speaking with anybody who may have information.
