Spencer Township, MI (August 24, 2023) - Two young children and a woman were killed in a car accident in Kent County on Thursday evening, August 24.
The fatal collision occurred on 18 Mile Road in Spencer Township, close to Harvard Avenue, around 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Office.
A 22-year-old man from Gowen was driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse when the sheriff's office claims he lost control after hydroplaning, crossed the center line, and collided with the driver of an SUV. He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
A 21-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the site, along with two young children, aged 1 and aged 3. The second SUV's driver was treated for injuries at the scene and also sent to the hospital.
The details surrounding the collision have not yet been fully reviewed, but the sheriff's office is currently looking into possible causes.
