Detroit, MI (August 20, 2023) - On the evening of August 20, several automobiles collided head-on on westbound Interstate 96 in the Detroit metropolitan region, resulting in apparent casualties.
According to preliminary data supplied by the Detroit PD, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the right shoulder of I-96 at around 9:20 p.m., not far from the exit ramp for Exit 30 and Alpine Avenue. Detroit's police and the state of Michigan's transportation department both sent medics to the area to help.
Paramedics came and started treating the injured after DPD officers blocked off several lanes of traffic. There has been no update on the victims' situations in the meanwhile.
The DPD has made an open call for anybody with information that might help them in their investigation. There has been no update on the number of casualties.
