Mason Township, MI (August 17, 2023) - A motorcyclist was involved in a crash near the Indiana border early Thursday morning, August 17, and was transferred to the hospital shortly after the collision occurred, according to local authorities.

The accident was reported on U.S. Highway 12 at Five Points Road in Mason Township at roughly 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, per an early investigation headed by the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

A motorcyclist and pickup truck driver were both traveling east on U.S. 12 when the accident occurred, though the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. The motorcycle rider was evacuated to the hospital, but their current condition is also unknown. Police did not say if the truck's driver was hurt in the wreck.
