Jackson County, MI (August 16, 2023) - A longtime sports writer in Jackson was killed in a head-on collision on Monday night, August 14, according to authorities.
At 5:40 p.m. on August 14, the Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety was called to the intersection of Robinson Road and West Michigan Avenue in Blackman Charter Township, north of Jackson.
Police said the victim, a 67-year-old Jackson man, was declared dead after his transport to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. The other motorist was also transferred to a local medical facility but sustained only a fractured ankle.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined, though authorities continue to investigate. Eyewitnesses with additional details were asked to come forward.
