Grand Rapids, MI (August 15, 2023) - On Tuesday, August 15th, two motorcyclists and a minivan were involved in a deadly crash in downtown Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids Police officers say a 31-year-old man was killed in the collision, which occurred at 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Fulton Street.
Two of three motorcyclists traveling together were involved in the accident with a minivan on Fulton Street, per initial reports from authorities. A Chevrolet Suburban was also involved in the accident, although it sustained only minor damage, and the driver was assessed for injuries at the site before being released. The second motorcyclist and three persons in the minivan were transferred to the hospital, although their injuries were not life-threatening.
The Grand Rapids PD established a Traffic Unit to field calls from witnesses. An investigation into the wreck is active in the interim.
