Detroit, MI (August 15, 2023) - On Tuesday afternoon, August 15, a collision involving at least two drivers and reported injuries occurred on U.S. Highway 23 in the Detroit metropolitan region.
The Detroit Police Department was summoned to the site shortly after the crash took place. According to the DPD's first findings, the collision, which shuttered most of the left lanes on northbound U.S. 23 at Michigan Highway 36 and 9 Mile Road, happened at 4:20 p.m. According to the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation, officials began their on-site review shortly thereafter.
Paramedics also arrived and assessed at least a few victims for injuries, though no additional information in connection with the victims' conditions or the cause of the crash was provided in the meantime.
The DPD is supervising the ongoing investigation and plans to release further details as they become available.
