Detroit, MI (August 13, 2023) - On Sunday evening, August 13, Detroit Police Department officers responded to an accident alert and a report of injuries on westbound I-96.
The crash happened just before 7:40 p.m., according to the DPD and the Michigan DOT. The incident resulted in the closing of multiple right-hand traffic lanes and the subsequent dispatch of first responders, with officials initially stating that two drivers and a few passengers were involved. Emergency responders also arrived at the site, located at the entrance ramp to Michigan Highway 39.
Although EMTs were spotted evaluating individuals involved at the crash site for injuries, authorities have not provided any information on the victims' conditions.
DPD personnel are in charge of the continuing inquiry in the meantime.
