Detroit, MI (August 11, 2023) - Officers from the Detroit Police Department responded to an accident alert and a report of injuries on the eastbound I-96 on Wednesday, August 9.
According to the DPD and the Michigan DOT, the collision happened just before 5:15 p.m. on the eastbound side of the highway. After the event, which included two drivers and a few passengers, several left-hand traffic lanes had to be closed, and first responders had to be sent to the scene. A short while later, emergency personnel also arrived at the scene, which was roughly a mile from the Davison Avenue exit.
Authorities have not disclosed any details on the victims' status, despite the fact that EMTs were seen checking on those involved in the incident at the scene for injuries.
Personnel from DPD are currently in charge of the ongoing investigation.
