Detroit, MI (August 6, 2023) - Police say that two drivers were involved in a crash at a local intersection on Saturday evening, August 5, and Detroit PD officers responded.
Officers with the Detroit Police Department say that the incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. at the junction of Woodward Avenue and West Forest Avenue.
According to authorities, the two motorists entered the intersection simultaneously, colliding and crashing into a Q-Line train shortly thereafter. Police responded and shut down the area for at least an hour while they completed their on-site inquiry. Detroit paramedics were also dispatched and assessed several victims for injuries, though the total number of individuals transferred to a local medical facility remains unclear.
The Detroit PD is handling the ongoing accident inquiry. No additional details were provided to the public, but DPD officers asked any witnesses in the area at the time of the wreck to get in touch with their investigators.
