Detroit, MI (August 4, 2023) - On Friday evening, August 4, officers with the Detroit Police Department reported to the scene of a crash involving multiple vehicles and apparent victim injuries.
Preliminary reports indicate that a rear-end crash occurred on Highway 24, affecting both the northbound and southbound lanes at Telegraph Road, per an incident alert issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation. DPD officers and troopers with the Michigan State Police arrived at the crash site around 9:35 p.m. for their initial investigation.
Officers from the Detroit PD called for assistance from local emergency medics, who quickly arrived at the scene to assist. It is unclear how many people were hurt in the crash, but paramedics assessed and evaluated all those involved.
The DPD officers will supervise the investigation going forward and ask that any witnesses contact them as soon as possible.
