Detroit, MI (August 4, 2023) - Detroit Police Department officers responded to an accident alert and a report of injuries on northbound Michigan Highway 39 on Friday evening, August 4.
According to the DPD and the Michigan DOT, the collision occurred just before 11:30 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway, not far from the Grand River exit. The incident, which officials suspect involved two drivers and a handful of passengers, prompted the closure of lanes of traffic and the subsequent dispatch of first responders.
Authorities haven't released anything about the victims' conditions, though EMTs were seen assessing those involved at the collision site for injuries.
In the interim, DPD officers are handling the ongoing investigation.
