Detroit, MI (July 25, 2023) - On Tuesday morning, July 25, the Detroit Police Department received a complaint of injuries sustained in what appeared to be a chain-reaction crash on southbound I-275.
The Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation report that the incident occurred about 11:45 a.m. on the southbound side of the road, not far from the Ann Arbor Road exit. Officials shut down the road to investigate, and their findings suggested that two or three vehicles were involved, prompting the dispatch of emergency personnel.
Paramedics came shortly after the DPD police had blocked off much of the route. So yet, however, no information on the drivers or their injuries has been released. It is also unclear whether or if any of the injured were transferred to a different hospital for further care.
The DPD has issued an open invitation to anybody who may have information relevant to their inquiry into the events leading up to the incident.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their fast recovery.
