Detroit, MI (July 23, 2023) - On Sunday night, July 23, at least two vehicles crashed on westbound Interstate 96, prompting the Detroit Police Department to close the highway and summon emergency crews.
The Detroit Police Department reports that at around 10:50 p.m., there was a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 96 near Livernois. While they investigated, they asked that vehicles avoid the area.
Emergency medical technicians from the area arrived shortly after the collision and began treating the injured, although it is not known how many individuals were affected or how serious their injuries are.
The highway was reopened around 12 a.m., but the cause is still being looked into by officials. The DPD is in charge of the investigation at this point.
