Grand Rapids, MI (July 19, 2023) - A man is in serious condition after a motorcycle accident that took place on Monday morning, July 17, according to officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department.
Officers say the collision occurred in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue NW at around 9:00 a.m. The driver of a white SUV, which was parked on the northbound side of the roadway, pulled away from the curb as the motorcyclist was traveling along the street on the same side. The motorcyclist struck the SUV's driver-side door as a result and fell off of his motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider sustained a severe head injury and was rushed to the hospital by local EMTs. Police say that the victim remains in serious condition. The SUV's driver was uninjured and reportedly stayed at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
The collision is still under investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
