Detroit, MI (July 19, 2023) - On the evening of July 19, police in Detroit were called to the scene of an accident on Interstate 75. There were reports of injuries.
The incident occurred on I-75 north of the Gratiot Avenue exit at around 8:50 p.m., according to the Michigan Department of Transportation and the Detroit Police Department. Officers shut down the right lane of traffic and conducted a preliminary investigation before calling for help.
DPD officials quickly sealed off the area and paramedics were dispatched, but no details about the injuries or fatalities of the drivers have been released. It's not clear if any of the transferred patients were given further treatment at a different facility.
DPD officials have asked for any witnesses to come forward and help with the investigation even though the reason for the collision is yet unknown.
