Concrete truck accidents are very dangerous because of the truck's enormous size and added weight, just like most truck accidents. A man was recently killed in Detroit after colliding head-on with a concrete truck in April 2019. In Michigan, there were 79,685 registered trucks as of December 2012, and this figure includes all heavy-load trucks up to 164 thousand pounds. A concrete truck is intended to move large quantities of aggregates, such as water, cement, and building supplies for mixing, including sand and gravel. A steel or fiberglass cylindrical drum holds the truck's cab in place. The trailer itself has a weight limit of 30,000 pounds and can support a 40,000-pound load. Concrete trucks frequently have major accidents due to their big size and massive load. In Michigan, there are regulations in place to safeguard drivers and pedestrians from the dangers that concrete trucks might pose on the road. Concrete trucks must adhere to axle weight maximum loads rather than gross vehicle weight. The specification is typically a maximum of 11 axles with a maximum weight of 13,000 pounds per axle. If it is determined that the concrete truck driver was at fault, you are entitled to compensation for your damages. The majority of injuries result from driver negligence. Semi-truck crashes are unlike any other type of vehicle collision. You need to work with an experienced Ann Arbor semi-truck accident attorney because these types of cases have many moving parts.
