Ann Arbor, MI (July 10, 2023) - An Illinois man was killed after he was struck while riding an electric scooter in Ann Arbor on Saturday, July 8.
The deadly accident was reported at the corner of Hill Street and Oakland Avenue late that night at around 11:30 p.m. The 21-year-old University of Michigan student headed east on the scooter when he was hit by a westbound sedan. He sustained significant head injuries and was transported to Michigan Medicine for treatment.
The 77-year-old driver remained at the scene and was not injured. The victim was later pronounced dead the following day on Sunday, July 9.
The identity of the deceased party has been withheld.
Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
