Detroit, MI (July 5, 2023) - On Monday, July 2, a Troy man was killed after being struck by a Ford van in the Detroit area.
The deadly accident occurred at the corner of Corttrell Street and Jefferson Avenue at around 10:50 p.m. The 47-year-old pedestrian was traveling near the intersection when he was hit by the oncoming vehicle. He was later pronounced dead.
The 84-year-old man driving the van pulled over and cooperated with authorities. He underwent field sobriety tests, and witnesses from the scene said that the van was impounded. Alcohol may have been involved.
