Kalamazoo, MI (June 23, 2023) - Two students were hurt after an SUV collided with a school bus in Kalamazoo on Thursday morning, June 22.
The accident was reported at the intersection of E. Main Street and N. 30th Avenue early that morning. Forty students from kindergarten to eighth grade were on a Comstock Public Schools bus when an SUV failed to stop at the intersection and crashed into the vehicle. Two students on board were injured and treated at the scene.
The driver of the SUV was hospitalized for treatment of sustained injuries. The area was temporarily closed, and authorities urged other motorists to avoid the scene.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
