Erie Twp, MI (June 23, 2023) - Three people suffered critical injuries after a crash involving an Animal Control vehicle in Erie Township on Wednesday, June 21.

At around 12:23 p.m., a 24-year-old Fremont, Ohio man was driving a gray 2008 Honda Civic on Telegraph Road when he crossed the centerline. The Honda crashed head-on with an oncoming Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Unit. The Honda continued going where it then hit a blue 2007 Dodge Caravan driven by a 52-year-old Monroe woman.

The driver of the Honda was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo in critical condition. The driver of the Dodge was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, and the Animal Control Officer to ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Monroe.

Local authorities are handling the ongoing crash investigation.
