Pontiac, MI (June 20, 2023) - On Saturday night, June 17, two pedestrians were injured after being hit by a motor vehicle in Pontiac.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Osumun Street at around 10:49 p.m. It was reported that a 27-year-old Pontiac resident was driving a 2015 Cadillac XTS traveling southbound. The driver reportedly swerved to avoid another vehicle and went over a curb where they hit three pedestrians on the sidewalk.

A party was being held nearby at the time of the accident. It is believed that the driver was using a handheld communication device leading to the crash.

One of the victims, a 46-year-old Pontiac woman, was transported to a hospital in critical condition, along with a 52-year-old Pontiac man. The driver was also hurt in the accident.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
