According to the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center Crash Statistics, there were 284,049 car accidents reported statewide between January 1 and December 31, 2011. In that time, there were 320,728 car accidents in the state that caused property damage and 52,487 that resulted in injuries. The most frequent causes of collisions in the state that year were speeding and distracted driving, and those who were hurt may be eligible to file a personal injury claim for compensation. After being hurt in a car accident, you should speak with a lawyer as soon as you can to start your compensation claim. Your lawyer can start working on your claim while you focus on complete recovery. If you wait too long, it will get harder to find witnesses to support your claim for compensation, and there is a chance that important evidence, such as security footage from nearby buildings, will be lost or destroyed. There are strict deadlines when you file a personal injury claim, and your insurance company can severely underpay your claim if you let them. You might not be able to submit a claim for compensation at all if a deadline is missed, and you would essentially forfeit any future settlement rights. Your lawyer will make every effort to make sure that these and other crucial deadlines are met so you do not risk giving up your right to full and fair compensation. You may be eligible for compensation if you or a member of your family suffered injuries as a result of someone else's carelessness. You can potentially hold the negligent party accountable and recover financial compensation for your damages by pursuing a personal injury claim. Your lawyer can help you assess the value of your case, and our legal team is here to assist you during your time of need.
