Ypsilanti, MI (June 8, 2023) - One person was killed, and another was injured following a car accident in Ypsilanti on Wednesday, June 7.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Washtenaw Avenue and Cornell Road at around 7:15 a.m. Two vehicles reportedly collided at the scene, and one person was pinned underneath a car. That victim had to be extricated by emergency responders.
The pinned victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was hospitalized for treatment. The area was closed for several hours while emergency crews were present.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
