Inverness Twp, MI (June 8, 2023) - On Wednesday, June 7, two drivers were injured following a car accident in Inverness Township.
The collision took place on Straits Highway at the Marathon gas station near M-33 at around 3:51 p.m. It was reported that a 68-year-old Cheboygan woman was headed south in a 2014 Ford Escape as a 27-year-old Cheboygan woman driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla was leaving the gas station.
The driver of the Toyota failed to yield to the Ford, and both vehicles collided. The 68-year-old woman was transported by ambulance to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, and the other driver also sought medical treatment on her own.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is in progress.
