Paw Paw, MI (June 4, 2023) - A one-year-old was killed following a vehicle collision in Paw Paw on Friday, June 2.
At around 12:22 p.m., the accident was reported on M-40 between 40th and 44th Avenues. Traffic on the highway was slowing due to a northbound Toyota Highlander that was preparing to make a left turn. The driver of a Chevrolet Colorado failed to stop and crashed into the rear of the vehicle.
A one-year-old and a 5-year-old were riding in the Highlander. Both were transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital for treatment. The one-year-old was later pronounced dead.
The 60-year-old Paw Paw woman driving the Chevy was also hospitalized. No further information has been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is in progress.
