Crashes involving large semi-trucks are less common than typical vehicle collisions, but they can still cause catastrophic injuries. Every year, there are a number of truck accidents in Michigan and across the nation. According to the most recent traffic crash statistics released by the Michigan State Police, there were 14,972 collisions involving large trucks or buses in 2021, and 4,810 of these crashes involved semi-trucks, while 1,489 involved trucks towing trailers.Wrongful death occurs when someone is killed as a result of the negligence of another person, corporation, or other entity. State law permits the surviving family members of the deceased to file a case against the party or parties that caused the decedent's death in order to seek restitution, typically with the assistance of a Michigan wrongful death attorney. Whether an individual, business, trucking company, or other entity acted intentionally or not, there may still be grounds for a legal claim and a death case.
