Battle Creek, MI (March 23, 2022) - A firefighter in Battle Creek suffered injuries on Saturday, March 19 when a floor collapsed while crews were doing overhauling work after a fire. The fire was reported to have taken place at 170 Rolling Drive near Davidson Drive.
The fire happened in a single family fixed trailer at approximately 6:00 p.m. on the evening of March 19. The first crews who arrived at the scene observed fire coming from a bedroom window of the trailer.
Firefighters were able to promptly gain control of the flames, according to reports from officials. All of the occupants of the trailer were able to make it to safety unharmed. The Red Cross was contacted in order to assist the displaced family.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by the local Fire Marshal's office. It was reported that damages occurred to a hallway and a bedroom inside the trailer. They were estimated to cost approximately $70,000.
Authorities in Battle Creek continue to investigate the details of the incident. Nothing further has been reported at this time.
