Kalamazoo, MI (March 16, 2022) - Michigan State Police were called to the scene of a fatal wreck on a roadway in Kalamazoo. The incident was reported on the morning of March 16, Wednesday.
Troopers said 80-year-old James Dehollander lost his life at the scene. One westbound lane of Gull Road was closed for an extended period of time near East G Avenue after the three-vehicle accident.
Responders arrived at the scene at approximately 11:30 a.m. to find that a 2006 Toyota Corolla had collided with a 1992 Ford Mustang. The Mustang was then pushed into a stationary Honda CRV near the entrance to a Walmart on Gull Road.
The Mustang’s driver was identified as a 23-year-old man from Augusta who was transported to a local hospital after the crash. He was treated and released, according to reports.
The occupants of the Honda CRV did not sustain injuries in the wreck. James Dehollander was driving the Corolla at the time of the accident. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
