Buena Vista, MI (March 16, 2022) - A crash on I-75 in Buena Vista between a minivan and a semi tractor-trailer claimed the life of one man from Mount Morris. The wreck happened at about 2:35 p.m. on Monday, March 14.
According to reports, the accident happened near M-46 on Interstate 75. A 2015 Volvo semi with a box trailer was experiencing mechanical issues when its driver, identified as a 40-year-old man from Pennsylvania, tried to reach an exit.
While he was doing so, the trailer was rear-ended by a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by Steven Cronin, 47, of Mount Morris.
Emergency responders had to extricate Cronin from the minivan. He was then transported to an area medical center by ambulance. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Police in Michigan continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Steven Cronin at this time.
Some of the most devastating types of traffic accidents involve trucks. Colliding with a commercial truck can be a terrifying ordeal. Semi-trucks are about 20 times heavier than an average-sized 4-door vehicle. Usually, those who are hurt in truck accidents sustain more severe injuries than those who are injured in regular traffic accidents.
Unfortunately, traffic collisions in Michigan happen hundreds of times per day. Yearly, the state sees around 300,000 traffic accidents. Over 70,000 people are hurt in these wrecks annually, and more than 1,000 are killed. Sustaining injuries in a collision can turn a person’s life upside down. If you or someone you love has recently been hurt in a wreck, you may be dealing with an array of different issues, ranging from physical, emotional, and financial.
You may have been stuck recovering in the hospital, which means you may have been forced out of work for some time. This can result in stress and anxiety, wondering how you are going to cover the costs associated with your crash and resulting injuries. A personal injury attorney in Michigan may be able to help you figure out how to collect financial compensation for your injuries and losses. Compensation can help cover some or all of the costs associated with your wreck.
There are over 11 million trucks actively operating throughout the United States, many with fatigued and overworked drivers carrying hazardous loads. In 2016, approximately 475,000 large truck collisions were reported in the United States. Human error was the leading cause of these wrecks, accounting for more than 90% of them.
If you or a loved one of yours has been injured in a truck accident, allow a Buena Vista truck accident attorney to help you protect your legal right toward compensation. The lawyers at the Michigan Legal Center firmly believe that paying for injuries caused by driver negligence is out of the question. Sadly, many truck accidents are the result of driver negligence due to the fact that truck drivers are often overworked and fatigued. Driving while fatigued is comparable to driving while intoxicated, and can result in devastating consequences.
