Georgetown, MI (March 13, 2022) - A man from Jenison was hurt in an accident in Georgetown on the evening of March 13. At approximately 6:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Chicago Drive and 18th Avenue for reports concerning a crash.
Initial reports show that a 35-year-old Grand Rapids woman traveling east on Chicago Drive in her Toyota Sienna ran a red light and hit an 83-year-old man from Jenison traveling north in his Buick Lacrosse.
Due to the crash, the Sienna overturned numerous times before landing on its side in the median. Three children, ages 3-8, were present in the Sienna at the time of the accident. Luckily, none of them or the driver were hurt in the wreck.
The driver of the Lacrosse was treated at the scene by paramedics. At this time, the extent of his injuries has not been reported.
One female passenger was present in the Lacrosse at the time of the accident. She sustained no injuries in the crash.
