Even if you drive as carefully as you can, you may still become involved in an auto collision caused by another driver’s negligence. Unfortunately, drivers in Michigan and throughout the United States tend to ignore the traffic laws put in place. These laws keep everyone safe while they’re out on the road. Choosing to disobey these laws can result in serious injury or even death. It is important to follow traffic signals, signs, and rules at all times. According to recent statistics concerning fatal accidents in the United States, distracted driving causes approximately 31% of all fatal accidents. Each year, over 13,000 individuals lose their lives due to the actions of careless and reckless drivers.
If you’ve recently been hurt in a crash caused by negligence, you may be overwhelmed and confused about where to turn for help with the cost of your injuries and damages. Most people are not aware of the legal rights they possess after suffering severe injuries in an auto accident that was not their fault. If you have been injured in a car crash, you might be stressed out about medical bills, vehicle repairs, lost wages, and other costs. Filing a personal injury claim may be your best bet in financially recovering. If you choose to rely on the insurance company for financial compensation, you may find yourself accepting a meager settlement that barely covers the costs associated with your collision.
