Southfield, MI (February 19, 2022) - Authorities in Southfield responded to the scene of an accident on the evening of February 18. At approximately 7:30 p.m., Friday, two vehicles were involved in a crash that ended in injuries.
The wreck occurred on Interstate 696 near Southfield Road when a semi truck and another vehicle collided. The contributing factors of the wreck remain under local law enforcement investigation at this time.
Police, EMTs, and fire crews were dispatched to the area where the incident occurred in order to assist involved parties. At least one person required extraction from their vehicle on-site. Fire fighters worked to free the individual while police investigated the circumstances of the collision.
One or more victims were injured and in need of medical treatment. They were treated at the scene before being transported to local medical centers for further care.
Currently, authorities in Southfield continue to investigate the details of the crash.
