Mayfield, MI (February 18, 2022) - Police in Mayfield were called to the scene of an auto accident that resulted in injuries on February 14. The wreck occurred between three vehicles on North Lapeer Road.
Sources say the incident occurred at the intersection of North Lapeer Road and Daley Road when a 2007 Hummer was headed west on Daley when it rear-ended a 2008 Lincoln MKZ stopped at a red light.
Three people from North Branch who were inside the Lincoln at the time required extrication from the vehicle by Lapeer City Fire and Rescue teams. The man driving the Lincoln required hospitalization, and a 54-year-old woman in the passenger seat was critically injured.
A 14-year-old girl who was in the backseat of the vehicle was taken to Hurley Medical Center in Flint and then transferred to Detroit Children’s Hospital in serious, but stable condition.
The driver of the Hummer was arrested and transported to McLaren in Lapeer. The incident remains under police investigation.
We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.
After being injured in a car accident, it is important to have your attorney start their investigation as quickly as possible. This is because witnesses need to be interviewed, pictures need to be taken of the crash scene as well as the vehicle, and other evidence needs to be gathered.
The more time passes, the harder it is to track down witnesses that will help your case, and evidence, such as surveillance videos from nearby stores, could be deleted.
Your insurance carrier could, and most likely is, undervaluing your no-fault benefits without your knowledge. There are very strict deadlines for filing personal injury and insurance claims. If you miss one of these deadlines, your case will be thrown out and you will not be given the opportunity to re-file, meaning you will be unable to collect compensation for your damages.
