Hartland, MI (February 18, 2022) - Police in Hartland were sent to the scene of a two-car accident in the southbound lanes of US 23 on the afternoon of February 17. The incident was reported at approximately 2:19 p.m.
Sources say the accident happened on U.S. 23 near Clyde Road when a 2006 Ford F-350 driven by a 21-year-old man from Flushing was headed south. The F-350 collided with a 2013 Ford Taurus driven by a 38-year-old Grand Haven man.
Information provided by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office states that both vehicles exited the road to the right, crossed over the Clyde Road entrance ramp to south U.S. 23, and came to a stop in the grass on the right side of U.S. 23.
The driver of the F-350 was ejected from the vehicle after it rolled over. He was taken to Genesys Hospital with serious injuries. The Taurus driver sustained no injuries.
It appears that speed may have been a factor in the collision, however, police continue to investigate. Deputies at the scene were assisted by Livingston County Ambulance, Hartland Area Fire, and the Michigan State Police.
We hope for the full recovery of those injured in the collision.
