The majority of freight in the United States is transported by commercial trucks, and these massive vehicles can endanger passengers in passenger cars. According to national accident statistics, smaller vehicle occupants are more likely to suffer life-threatening injuries in the event of a collision. Every year, over 500,000 trucking accidents are reported, resulting in thousands of deaths.
Semi-trucks are involved in a large number of fatal car accidents across the United States, including here in Michigan. Tucking collisions are extremely dangerous, especially when smaller passenger vehicles are involved, as the statistics show. Despite the fact that rig operators are required to prioritize safety, even the most experienced trucker can make a critical error on the road, resulting in a catastrophic 18-wheeler accident.
