Every time you get behind the wheel, you put yourself at risk of serious injury, and car accidents kill tens of thousands of people each year in the United States. In Michigan, 889 people were killed in 834 collisions in 2011. Nearly half of those killed in car accidents in the state were wearing seatbelts at the time of impact. In 2019, 985 people were killed and nearly 75,000 were injured in Michigan traffic accidents.
In the United States, car accidents are the leading cause of death and serious injury. More fatal collisions occur each year, according to statistics, and the risk of serious injury in a collision is higher than you might think. Even non-fatal accidents can result in life-altering injuries. If the victims are unable to return to work, they may be faced with large medical bills that they are unable to pay. Innocent victims may be overwhelmed by this difficult financial and emotional situation. After a serious car accident, it's critical to get the compensation you need, which is why injured parties should speak with a qualified attorney to increase their chances of a successful personal injury claim.
If injured victims believe a careless driver is to blame for their injuries, they should contact a Lowell car accident lawyer as soon as possible.
