Detroit, MI (January 25, 2022) - A man was killed and a woman injured following a two-vehicle rollover crash in Detroit on Monday morning, January 24. The deadly accident took place at around 2:50 a.m. at the intersection of Interstate 96 and W. Grand Boulevard.
A woman was reportedly driving down the highway when she was involved in a crash with another vehicle. The impact caused both vehicles to come to rest on the shoulder of the interstate. The male driver’s car caught fire due to the crash.
Both drivers were taken to a local hospital for treatment, and the male driver was pronounced dead. The female driver was treated for sustained injuries. No additional information has been provided.
An ongoing accident investigation is underway.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and her family in hopes of a full recovery.
Distracted drivers' reckless actions or inclement weather conditions can both contribute to rollover crashes. In 2010, rollovers were responsible for nearly a third of all traffic fatalities. These types of collisions accounted for less than 2% of all reported collisions that year. Rollover crashes killed an estimated 7,600 people that year, and unrestrained individuals accounted for 69% of these fatalities.
The pain of losing a loved one due to someone else's negligence is almost unbearable. For those close to the victim, it can have unintended consequences. Family members who survive the accident are frequently the ones who bear the brunt of the accident's consequences. They may be able to recover lost compensation by filing a wrongful death claim with the help of an experienced Detroit wrongful death attorney. A wrongful death claim seeks compensation from those responsible for the deceased's death by holding the at-fault party accountable for their role in a fatal accident.
