Genoa Twp, MI (January 23, 2022) - Two teenagers were killed following a traffic accident in Genoa Township on Saturday night, January 22. The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of S. Hacker and McClements Roads.
Local reports revealed that a 16-year-old male Fowlerville resident was headed eastbound in a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck. Three 16-year-old males from Howell were riding in the vehicle. The driver failed to yield at the intersection and was hit by a 1998 Honda Civic.
The impact caused the truck to leave the roadway and overturn. The driver and one of the passengers were ejected in the crash, and both were pronounced dead at the scene. The two remaining passengers were taken to Providence Hospital in Novi, and the driver of the Civic was transported to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
An ongoing investigation into the fatal crash is underway.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
