Pedestrian fatalities are increasing across the country, while passenger car fatalities are decreasing. Pedestrians are 1.5 times more likely to be killed in an accident, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Pedestrians have little protection in the event of a collision, making them more vulnerable to fatal injuries.
When a loved one dies as a result of another party's negligence, wrongful death lawsuits are filed to compensate the surviving family members. On the other hand, getting that compensation is frequently easier said than done. The fact that the victim died does not absolve the wrongdoer of responsibility. When a fatal accident occurs, insurance companies for those who are at fault frequently try to shift blame. Instead of compensating the deceased's family members after a fatal car accident, the defendant should compensate the deceased's family members to help with accident-related expenses. Only a Bingham Township personal injury lawyer with years of experience helping victims pursue wrongful death claims can assist you with this.
