Pontiac, MI (January 18, 2022) - A fire in Pontiac on Monday morning, January 17, left two people dead and five others injured. The deadly blaze was reported at a multi-family residence at around 2:44 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, a two-story unit was completely up in flames. Two people inside were able to jump to safety. One of the deceased parties was located in a bedroom on the second floor, and another was found in a first-floor kitchen.
Two elderly men were treated for smoke inhalation injuries, and another man was taken to the hospital due to a broken leg. A teenager is currently still unaccounted for.
