Every time you get behind the wheel, you put yourself in danger, and car accidents kill tens of thousands of people every year in the United States. In Michigan, 889 people were killed in 834 collisions in 2011. Nearly half of those killed in car accidents in the state were wearing seatbelts at the time of impact. In 2019, 985 people were killed and nearly 75,000 were injured in Michigan traffic accidents.
In order to maximize the value of their damage claim, injured plaintiffs must make the right decisions in the moments following an accident. Many victims are unsure how to get the compensation they need after a serious accident. As a result, they may feel isolated and befuddled. When people who have been injured attempt to fight a large insurance company on their own, they frequently encounter roadblocks and other issues. This only adds to the stress and frustration of the situation. Individuals who have been hurt in a car accident may be able to speak with a Detroit auto accident lawyer about their legal rights and options for filing a claim and, in some cases, receiving just compensation.
