Emergency responders were sent to the scene of a two-vehicle collision. Local reports revealed that a 30-year-old Kalamazoo driver was headed southbound when they crossed the centerline. The motorist crashed head-on with a northbound vehicle.
A passenger in the northbound car sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Both drivers were transported to a nearby hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. Local officials indicated that alcohol may have been involved in the accident.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is underway.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
A head-on collision is more likely than other collisions to result in fatal injuries. Head-on collisions are among the deadliest, with a death rate of over 58 percent. Despite accounting for less than 2% of all reported traffic accidents, they are responsible for more than 10% of all annual road fatalities. The most common cause of these collisions is careless or distracted drivers swerving into opposing lanes of traffic.
When a loved one dies as a result of another party's negligence, wrongful death lawsuits are filed to compensate the surviving family members. On the other hand, getting that compensation is frequently easier said than done. The fact that the victim died does not absolve the wrongdoer of responsibility. When a fatal accident occurs, insurance companies for those who are at fault frequently try to shift blame. Instead of compensating the deceased's family members after a fatal car accident, the defendant should compensate the deceased's family members to help with accident-related expenses. Only a Comstock Township personal injury lawyer with years of experience helping victims pursue wrongful death claims can assist you with this.
