Driving can be extremely dangerous, and most of us do it every day. Car accidents kill tens of thousands of people in the United States every year. In Michigan, 889 people were killed in 834 collisions in 2011. Nearly half of those killed in car accidents in the state were wearing seatbelts at the time of impact. In 2019, 985 people were killed and nearly 75,000 were injured in Michigan traffic accidents.
The pain and anguish of losing a loved one due to someone else's negligence is almost unbearable. For those close to the victim, it can have unintended consequences. Family members who survive the accident are frequently the ones who bear the brunt of the accident's consequences. They may be able to recover lost compensation by filing a wrongful death claim with the help of an experienced Cassopolis wrongful death attorney. A wrongful death claim seeks compensation from those responsible for the deceased's death by holding the at-fault party accountable for their role in a fatal accident.
