Every time you travel by car, you put yourself in danger, and tens of thousands of people die in car accidents in the United States each year. In 2011, 889 people were killed in Michigan in 834 collisions. At the time of impact, nearly half of those killed in car accidents in the state were wearing seatbelts. In Michigan traffic accidents in 2019, 985 people were killed and nearly 75,000 were injured.
In order to maximize the value of their damage claim, injured plaintiffs must make the right decisions in the moments following an accident. Many victims are unsure how to get the compensation they need after a serious accident. As a result, they may feel isolated and befuddled. When people who have been injured try to fight a large insurance company on their own, they frequently encounter roadblocks and other issues. This only adds to the stress and frustration of the situation. Victims may be able to speak with a Detroit auto accident attorney about their legal rights and options for filing a claim and, in some cases, receiving fair compensation.
