Commercial trucks deliver the majority of freight in the United States, and these enormous vehicles can pose considerable danger to passengers in passenger automobiles. In the event of a crash, occupants of smaller vehicles are at greater risk of suffering life-threatening injuries, and this is backed up by national accident statistics. Every year, over 500,000 trucking accidents are reported, resulting in thousands of deaths.
Semi-trucks cause more than their fair share of devastating vehicle collisions across the country, including right here in Michigan. The statistics speak for themselves, and the bottom line is that Tucking accidents are extremely dangerous, especially when they involve smaller passenger vehicles. Rig operators are required to make safety a priority, but due to intense pressures on the road, even the most skilled trucker can make a critical error that leads to a catastrophic 18-wheeler accident.
